Sunday, March 10, First Sunday in Lent

Colossians 3:12-14

12 As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. 13Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

For me, the 40 days in Lent are a time of reflection between Ash Wednesday and Easter. Col. 3:12-14 teaches us about holy living. We are all holy and dearly loved in Christ’s eyes.

We are all to live with forgiveness and mercy towards one another. We will love one another during Lent as well as year-around.

This is a time of sadness as well as joy with the death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. I will reflect during these 40 days on the forgiveness and mercy he gave me, and I will carry that blessing into how I live even after Easter.
